DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY ARTIE GULDEN
"We ran really well in Riverside a couple weeks ago and are looking to build on that. Paul Short is a huge meet, with over 40 teams in the races for men and women, so they will have to manage the large number of runners. But overall, it's a great opportunity for both teams and I expect we will rise to the occasion."

ABOUT PAUL SHORT
First held in 1969, the Paul Short Run has grown into a two-day event, drawing over 7,000 athletes from over 600 high schools and colleges across the country. Utah State has had tremendous success at this event, winning three straight men's team titles from 2017-19, a women's team title in 2017, two men's individual champions (Dillon Maggard, 2017; Caleb Garnica, 2021) and one women's individual champion (Alyssa Snyder, 2017). In this year's College Gold races, both USU squads will face nationally ranked competition, with the men competing against No. 12 Harvard and No. 23 Syracuse and the women facing No. 21 Penn State and No. 23 Syracuse.
