Box Score GREELEY, Colorado – Utah State women's basketball ventured to the road for the first time of the 2024-25 season but fell to Northern Colorado, 85-57, on Sunday afternoon at Bank of Colorado Stadium.
After falling behind early, the Aggies battled back at the end of the first quarter, using a 12-1 run that stretched into the second frame to trim the deficit to only three points at 21-18. Freshman guard
Carlie Latta and junior guard Isabella Tañedo each scored five points during the run to pull the aggies back into the game. The Bears responded, however, with a 9-0 to reaffirm control of the contest on the way to a 46-27 halftime lead.
Utah State continued to fight but could not reel in the Bears in the second half. The Aggies won the turnover battle as they forced 27 turnovers from Northern Colorado, but a cold shooting night prevented the offense from taking advantage. USU closed the game on a 13-0 run, including a 3-pointer each from freshmen
Denae Skelton and
Karlie Banks plus a pair of layups from freshman
Taliyah Logwood.
Latta led the Aggies with career-highs of 15 points and five rebounds, also tying for the team lead in steals with three alongside freshman guard
Elise Livingston. Sophomore forward
Gracie Johnson led the Aggies with two blocks and also came second on the team with four boards. 10 different Aggies scored in the contest, with Logwood coming second on the team with nine points behind Latta.
