LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football player
Rahsul Faison has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Nov. 17. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
With their sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
Faison, a senior running back from Pottstown, Pennsylvania (Salisbury (CT) HS), rushed for a career-high 191 yards on 20 carries and tied his career high with two touchdowns in Utah State's 55-10 Mountain West home win against Hawai'i. It is Faison's second time this season being named the AFCU USU Student-Athlete of the Week.

Utah State remains home to celebrate Senior Day against San Diego State on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

Nominees from other sports for USU Student-Athlete of the Week included:
MEN'S BASKETBALL – Graduate guard Ian Martinez (Heredia, Costa Rica) helped Utah State improve to 3-0 with a 117-53 home win against Westminster last week. Martinez scored a game-high 24 points in just 21 minutes on the court, to go along with four assists, two rebounds, and one steal. Overall, he was 7-for-9 from 3-point range, while going 3-for-3 from the free throw line. His seven made triples rank tied for the eighth-most by a USU player in a game in program history.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL – Junior guard Jamisyn Heaton (Lehi, Utah) totaled 24 points in helping Utah State to a 1-1 record this past week with a 67-51 home win against Cal State Bakersfield and an 85-57 loss at Northern Colorado. Heaton led the Aggies with 19 points against the Roadrunners, while adding five rebounds, five blocks and four steals. Against the Bears, Heaton posted five points with two rebounds and one steal.
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY – Graduate Camren Todd (Kaysville, Utah) took 14th with a time of 29:39.3 in the men's 10K race at the 2024 NCAA Mountain Region Championships, earning all-region honors. His efforts led the men to a fourth place finish out of 17 teams, tied for their best-ever regional finish, and an at-large berth to the NCAA National Championships.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY – Senior Emma Thornley (Layton, Utah) took 22nd with a time of 20:17.0 in the women's 6K race at the 2024 NCAA Mountain Region Championships, earning all-region honors, as she helped the women to a ninth place finish out of 19 teams.
SOCCER – Graduate goalkeeper Cora Brendle (Boiling Springs, South Carolina) played all 110 minutes in goal for Utah State during the team's 0-0 draw with a loss in penalty kicks to Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Brendle earned the clean sheet as she made three saves, stopping all three shots she faced during the match. This was her 11th shutout of the year, tying a program goalkeeper record.
VOLLEYBALL – Redshirt junior outside hitter Kaylie Ray (Chandler, Arizona) recorded 34 kills across a pair of Utah State home wins last week against UNLV (3-2) and San Diego State (3-1). Against the Rebels, Ray had a career-high 20 kills on a .395 hitting percentage. And against the Aztecs, she posted 14 kills on a .242 hitting percentage. For the week, Ray averaged 3.78 kills per set.
