LOGAN, Utah – The Blue A Collective is holding a toy drive in benefit of the Family Place in advance of a pair of basketball games this month. The toy drive will culminate at Utah State's men's basketball game against South Florida on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m., and USU's women's basketball game against UC Riverside on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m.
Fans can donate toys at the game or drop off donations during business hours at the USU Ticket Office in exchange for a discount on tickets for the men's basketball game on Jan. 4 against Fresno State and the women's basketball game against Colorado State on Dec. 29. Fans will receive a flyer with a QR code to access discounted tickets upon donation. Donations must be a new, unwrapped toy. Examples of requested toys are included with the attached photo/graphic.
The toy drive is the latest example of the positive impact of new name, image and likeness (NIL) rules in college athletics, aligning the benefits of the NIL marketplace for student-athletes with community organizations, initiatives and outreach programs.
The Family Place is a non-profit that provides workshops and events for families, care for children, and counseling to strengthen families and protect children. The Family Place, formerly the Child & Family Support Center, has been helping families for over 30 years across the Cache, Rich, and Franklin counties in Utah.
