Game Recap: Women's Basketball |
MOSCOW, Idaho – Utah State women's basketball again erased a double-digit deficit but was unable to fully flip the script in a 71-56 loss at Idaho on Sunday afternoon at ICCU Arena.

After the Vandals opened up an 11-point lead in the first quarter, Utah State fought back with an 8-0 run to immediately climb back into the contest. Freshman guard Elise Livingston proved vital during the run, scoring on a driving layup as time expired in the first quarter before beating the shot clock on USU's opening possession of the second quarter with a straightaway 3 to cut the deficit to three points.

Idaho re-extended their lead back to eight points before a 3-pointer from junior guard Mia Tarver kickstarted a 10-2 stretch by the Aggies to tie the game at 27. Freshman guard Taliyah Logwood converted two free throws and went coast-to-coast on a fastbreak layup during the run before Tarver capped off the spell with another 3-pointer. Livingston matched a Vandal 3-pointer in the final minute before Idaho earned another basket to take a 32-30 lead into halftime.

After junior forward/center Sophie Sene answered Idaho's opening bucket of the second half, the Vandals embarked on a 14-2 run to wrestle back control of the game. The Aggies again stormed back with a 10-0 blitz to come within four points following a 3-pointer from sophomore forward Gracie Johnson. The Vandals were able to fend off the USU push, however, en route to the 71-56 victory.

Utah State shot 27.6 percent (8-of-29) from 3-point range for the game, and 31.9 percent (22-of-69) overall. Livingston led the Aggies with a career-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including a 3-of-5 mark from 3-point range. Logwood added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Johnson and Tarver both tied for the team lead with six rebounds apiece, while Tarver also led the team with three steals and Johnson posted a team-high four blocks.
