LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's basketball sophomore guard
Mason Falslev has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Dec. 22. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
With their sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
Falslev helped the Aggies to a 1-1 week, falling to UC San Diego 75-73 on Tuesday for the team's first loss of the season, then winning at Saint Mary's 75-68 on Sunday to improve to 11-1. On the week, Falslev averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the field, 33.3 percent (2-of-6) from 3-point range and 72.7 percent (8-of-11) at the free throw line.
Against the Tritons, Falslev went for 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals. He followed that performance by going for 18 points, five rebounds and two assists in the win over the Gaels.

Utah State will now play part two of its three-game road trip as the Aggies travel to San Diego, California, to face San Diego State on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 4 p.m. (MT). The game will be broadcast on FOX.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL – Junior guard Jamisyn Heaton (Lehi, Utah) led the Aggies with 14 points and six rebounds in their 74-59 loss to UC Riverside. Heaton, who shot 6-of-11 from the field and 2-of-3 from the free throw line, added two assists and two steals in the game.
