LOGAN, Utah – After helping Utah State men's basketball to its first road win over an AP Top 25 opponent in over 30 years, sophomore guard
Mason Falslev was named the Mountain West Player of the Week.
This is Falslev's fourth player of the week honor this season, making him just the tenth player in Mountain West history to earn four POTW accolades in a year. He is also just the third underclassmen in league history to do so, joining Utah's Andrew Bogut (five times in 2004-05) and UNLV's Mike Moser (four times in 2011-12).
Falslev helped the Aggies take down No. 20 San Diego State 67-66, the team's first ranked road win since 1991 and just the second-ever road win over the Aztecs. Falslev went for 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and a career-high-tying five steals. In the win, he shot 46.2 percent (6-of-13) from the field and 40.0 percent (2-of-5) from 3-point range.
Falslev and the Aggies are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 31, as they wrap up a three-game road trip in Reno at Nevada. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. (MT).
