LOGAN, Utah – After helping Utah State men's basketball improve to 9-0 for just the third time in program history with a pair of wins last week, sophomore guard
Mason Falslev was named the Mountain West Player of the Week. This is Falslev's second league player of the week honor this season.
Falslev helped lead the Aggies to a 70-67 win over Wyoming in the team's conference opener last Wednesday, and a 92-62 win over Utah Tech on Saturday. Against the Cowboys, he went for 19 points, six rebounds, an assist and three steals. He followed that performance by totaling nine points, nine rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal against the Trailblazers.
On the week, Falslev averaged 14.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per contest. He shot a combined 50.0 percent (11-of-22) from the floor and 75.0 percent (6-of-8) at the free throw line.
Falslev and the Aggies are back in action this weekend as they host South Florida on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. The game will be streamed on Mountain West Network and broadcast locally on KMYU.
