Aggie Tip-Off
Utah State women's basketball (4-19, 1-11 MW) continues its 2023-24 campaign with a pair of games this week as the Aggies host Boise State (16-8, 7-4 MW) on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m., then hit the road to face San Diego State (16-9, 7-5 MW) on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. (MT), in San Diego, California.

Scouting the Broncos
• Boise State is 16-8 this season and is currently fourth in the Mountain West a 7-4. Most recently, it defeated Wyoming at home 56-42.
• Sophomore guard Natalie Pasco leads the team scoring with 14.1 points per outing. Senior guard Mary Kay Naro averages a team-best 4.7 assists, while senior forward Abby Muse leads the squad with 8.9 rebounds per contest.
• The Broncos average 63.3 points while allowing 56.5 points per outing.
Scouting the Aztecs
• San Diego State is 16-9 this season and is currently fifth in the Mountain West with a 7-5 record. Most recently, it defeated San José State on the road 63-62.
• Senior forward Adryana Quezada, who played at Utah State in 2021-22, leads the team in both scoring and rebounds this year with 14.6 points and 6.4 boards per game. Senior guard Abby Prohaska is the team's top facilitator with 3.2 assists per contest.
• The Aztecs average 66.6 points while allowing 63.7 points per outing.
Series History
• Utah State and Boise State have met up 44 times in a series dating back to 1975.
• Boise State leads the all-time series 33-12 and has won seven of the past eight meetings. Utah State's last win in the series came in 2022 in Logan.
• Last year, the Broncos swept the series, winning 73-56 in Logan, 89-41 in Boise and 66-58 in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament.
• Utah State and San Diego State have met up 21 times in a series dating back to 1980.
• San Diego State leads the all-time series 14-7, and has won each of the past five meetings.
• Last year, the Aztecs won the lone season matchup, an 89-55 victory in Logan.
Last Time Out
• Utah State narrowly fell to Air Force Saturday afternoon in a 78-72 loss.
• A season-high four Aggies scored in double-figures, led by a 16-point effort from junior guard
Macy Smith. She also went for three rebounds, a team-high three assists, two steals and a block in the contest.
• The Falcons led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, but a resilient effort by the Aggies kept them in the game. The Aggies used efficient shooting and a 28-point fourth quarter to make a late push, but the run was too little too late.
• USU had its second-best shooting performance of the season, finishing at 47.3 percent (26-of-55) from the floor.
Sami I Am
• Utah State junior guard/forward
Samiana Suguturaga has seen her role increase as the season progresses, starting and playing at least 20 minutes in each of the past six contests.
• In non-conference play, Suguturaga averaged 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds with four total blocks. In the 12 games of Mountain West play, she has averaged 8.1 points and 4.4 boards with 10 blocked shots.
Block Party
Utah State freshman forward
Gracie Johnson is one of just four players in program history to have three games with five or more blocks in a season. Additionally, she is just the second freshman to ever do so, joining all-time program block leader Deja Mason.
Block Party - Pt. II
• In Utah State's contest at Boise State, Johnson went off for eight blocks to tie the program's all-time single-game record. She's just the fifth player in program history to get eight rejections in a contest, and the first since Mason did so in 2016. It's also tied for eighth in Mountain West history and is the second-most ever by a MW freshman.
• Only five players in NCAA Division I have recorded more blocks in a game this season.
Macy Magic
USU junior guard
Macy Smith is coming off of her finest performance in an Aggie uniform. Against Air Force, Smith led USU in scoring with a season-high 16 points, while also recording three rebounds, a team-high three assists, two steals and a block.
A Historic Mark
As a team against Boise State, the Aggies recorded 13 blocks, just one rejection shy of a program record and tied for the third-best mark in team history. Utah State currently ranks third in the Mountain West with 3.7 blocks per game.
30-Point Club

Cheyenne Stubbs went off in Utah State's win at Nevada on Jan. 31, finishing with a career-high 32 points in the contest on 10-of-24 shooting (.417) from the floor, 2-of-8 shooting (.250) from 3-point range and 10-of-14 shooting (.714) from the charity stripe.
• Her 32 points are tied for 20th most in USU program history.
• She is just the 14th player in USU program history to score 32 or more points in a game, and is the first to do so since Shyla Latone on March 1, 2021.
• She is also just the 10th player in program history to have multiple 30-plus point games in a season. The most recent USU player to do so was Latone in 2020-21.
• Stubbs is one of just three players in the MW to record multiple 30-plus point games this season.
