LOGAN, Utah - Former Utah State goalkeeper Diera Walton has signed a contract to play professionally with FC Pinzgau Saalfelden, a club in Austria's third tier of football known as Regionalliga Salzburg. The club is located in Saalfelden, a town near the Austria-Germany border with an approximate population of 16,000. 
 
Walton finished her career at Utah State as the program's all-time leader in nearly every goalkeeping statistic. A two-time second-team all-Mountain West honoree, Walton holds Utah State records for career shutouts (30), saves (339) and goalkeeper minutes (7,704), and ranks third all-time in goals-against-average at 0.90. 
 
The native of Draper, Utah, made 82 starts and 86 appearances during her five seasons in Logan. She holds the No. 1 and No. 2 all-time marks for goalkeeper minutes in a season, logging 2,094 minutes in 2021 and 2,023 minutes in 2023. Her 101 saves in 2021 rank second in program history, while her 88 saves in 2019 rank fourth. Additionally, she holds three of the top-10 goals-against-average marks in team history, including most recently, a 0.80 GAA in 2023 to rank fifth all-time. She also posted nine shutouts during the historic 2023 campaign, third-most in program history. 
 
During her career, Walton went 43-29-10 as a starting goalkeeper, including a 14-8-1 mark her final season in 2023 as she anchored one of the nation's top defenses and led the Aggies to their first ever Mountain West championship, and third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Walton was named to the Mountain West All-Tournament Team for her efforts in USU's historic run to the title. She was also named the College Soccer News National Player of the Week on Sept. 18, 2023, after a six-save performance in the team's shutout victory over No. 1 BYU. 
 
Currently at the midway break of its season, FC Pinzgau is third in the Frauen Bundesliga. Walton will travel to Austria later this month to join the team prior to the resumption of its season on March 3.
