Game Recap: Women's Basketball |
LOGAN, Utah — Utah State women's basketball (4-20, 1-12 MW) lost to Boise State (17-8, 8-4 MW) Wednesday evening inside of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, falling 73-57.

The second-career double-double for guard Cheyenne Stubbs wasn't enough, as the junior went for 19 points and a career-high-tying 11 rebounds to lead the squad in each category. Sophomore guard also went for a career-high with eight points.

The Aggies struggled to keep up with Boise State's hot shooting early on, as the Broncos pulled away early to take a 19-10 lead after a quarter. They then opened the second quarter on a 9-0 run to gain further separation, but Utah State scored 12 of the final 18 points of the half, including a four-point play from sophomore guard Isabella Tañedo, to bring the deficit back within single-figures by the break. At the half, USU trailed 33-24.

The third quarter belonged to the visitors, as they scored 21 points in the frame while limiting Utah State to just six. The Aggies pushed back in the fourth with a 27-point period, outscoring Boise State 27-19 in the quarter, but were unable to close the gap.

Utah State got 20 points from its bench, including eight from Tañedo and seven from sophomore forward Tiairra Hill-Brown, who also went for five boards, two assists and a steal.

Utah State finished the contest shooting 29.5 percent (18-of-61) from the floor, 15.8 percent (3-of-19) from 3-point range and 75.0 percent (18-of-24) at the charity stripe. Boise State shot 39.7 percent (25-of-63) from the field, including 44.8 percent (13-of-29) from deep and 50.0 percent (10-of-20) from the free throw line.

The Broncos were paced by Natalie Pasco, who finished with a team-high of 15 points.
