Box Score PHOENIX, Arizona – Utah State men's tennis improved to 7-1 on the spring season after posting a 4-3 win at Grand Canyon on Sunday. GCU fell to 2-4 with the loss.
The Antelopes started the match off by earning the doubles point by clinching wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.
In singles, graduate senior
Bodin Zarkovic won in straight sets at the No. 1 spot (6-2, 6-3), senior
Stijn Paardekooper won in three sets at the No. 2 spot (6-7, 6-7(4), 6-2), sophomore
Nuno Pinheiro won in straight sets at the No. 4 spot (7-6 (4), 6-2) and freshman
Mohammad Alkotop won in three sets at the No. 5 spot (6-0, 6-7 (5), 6-1).
Junior Sergi Micó Fenollar lost at the No. 3 spot (5-7, 6-2, 3-6) and freshman
Stefan Vedovelli lost at the No. 6 spot (5-7, 6-4, 4-6).
The Aggies return to action next weekend as it hosts Idaho State on Friday, Feb. 23, at 11:00 am.
