Aggie Tip-Off
Utah State women's basketball (5-22, 2-14 MW) continues its 2023-24 campaign with a single game this week as the Aggies travel to take on Air Force (13-16, 6-10 MW) on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. (MT), in USAFA, Colorado.

Scouting the Falcons
• Air Force is 13-16 this season and is off to a 6-10 start to league play. Most recently, it won at home against San José State 67-53 on Saturday. The Falcons currently sit one spot ahead of the Aggies at ninth in the MW standings.
• Sophomore guard Milahnie Perry leads the team in both scoring and assists this year with 16.5 points and 2.7 assists per game. Freshman guard Jayda McNabb averages a team-best 6.3 rebounds per contest.
• The Falcons average 63.1 points while allowing 67.1 points per outing.
Series History
• Utah State and Air Force have met up 23 times in a series dating back to 2004.
• Utah State leads the all-time series 14-10, but Air Force has won five-straight meetings.
• Last year, Air Force won 63-77 in Colorado Springs and 66-59 in Logan.
Last Meeting
• Utah State and Air Force met up just a few weeks back in Logan on Feb. 10, the Falcons coming away with a 78-72 win.
• The Aggies tied their season-best scoring output with 72 points, but were unable to hold off a hot-shooting Air Force team that shot 46.7 percent (28-of-60) from the field.
• USU was led by a season-high 16-point outing from junior guard Macy Smith, while three other Aggies finished in double-figures, including junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs (15), junior guard/forward Samiana Suguturaga (10) and senior forward Allyzee Verdan (10).
• Air Force was led by a 24-point effort from Milahnie Perry.
Last Time Out
• Utah State fell short in a 90-62 loss to San Diego State on Saturday afternoon.
• A 22-point outing by junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs wasn't enough, as she hit five 3-pointers while also totaling four rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.
• The Aztecs used hot shooting throughout to secure the win, as they finished the game shooting 53.1 percent (34-of-64) from the field and 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from 3-point range.
• Sophomore forward Tiairra Hill-Brown also had a strong outing for USU, going for five points, five rebounds, an assist and a career-high five steals.
Aggies Take Down Spartans
• USU picked up a big road win last week, taking down San José State in a dramatic road victory Wednesday evening 71-70.
• Junior guard/forward Samiana Suguturaga hit a 3-pointer with 33.5 seconds remaining to give the Aggies the lead. USU then stopped a pair of SJSU shots on the final possession of the game to secure the win.
• Utah State had seasons highs in made 3-pointers (12), made field goals (27) and assists (15), while scoring its third-most points of the year.
Scoring Machine
• Utah State junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs has had one of the top scoring season in program history. Her 16.4 points per game rank just outside the top-10, behind Jill Swainston's 16.8 in 1986-87.
• Stubbs has led Utah State's scoring efforts in 20 games this season, the most by an Aggie player since Funda Nakkasoglu also had 20 team-leading outings in 2015-16.
Ivory Thriving
Utah State junior guard Ivory Finley went off in the team's game against Colorado State, scoring a season-high 19 points to go along with six rebounds, an assist and a steal while going 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Finley's 19 points were the most by an Aggie player this year aside from junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs.
Tournament Time
The 2024 Mountain West Basketball Championship takes place from Sunday, March 10, through Wednesday, March 13, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The Championship game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
