Game Recap: Women's Basketball |
LOGAN, Utah — Utah State women's basketball (5-23, 2-14 MW) dropped its road finale at Air Force (14-16, 7-10 MW) Wednesday afternoon, suffering an 85-46 loss at Clune Arena.

The Aggies were led by a pair of career-best scoring performances, as junior guard Livia Knapp and senior forward Allyzee Verdan each went for 10 points in the contest. Verdan also shattered her previous career high on the glass, bringing down nine rebounds including four offensive boards.

After going down early and trailing 10-2 at the first media timeout, the Aggies were tasked with playing from behind for the entirety of the contest. Utah State battled back to cut the lead to four in the first quarter, but were unable to keep pace with a Falcon offense which scored 20-plus points in every quarter of the game.

Air Force was efficient from the field throughout and used hot shooting from outside the arc to remain on top, shooting 50.0 percent (32-of-64) from the field and 42.9 percent (12-of-28) from 3-point range.

Along with Knapp and Verdan, junior guard Cheyenne Stubbs also reached double-figures as she finished the afternoon with a team-best 11 points.

Utah State finished the contest shooting 25.0 percent (14-of-56) from the floor, 23.1 percent (3-of-13) from 3-point range and 93.8 percent (15-of-16) at the charity stripe. Air Force shot 50.0 percent (32-of-64) from the field, including 42.9 percent (12-of-28) from deep and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the free throw line.

The Falcons were paced by Milahnie Perry, who finished with a game-high of 20 points.
