Box Score LARAMIE, Wyo. — Utah State women's basketball (4-18, 1-10 MW) dropped a road contest at Wyoming Wednesday evening, falling 62-47 at Arena-Auditorium in Laramie.

Utah State's night was highlighted by three double-digit scoring performances, as junior guard/forward Samiana Suguturaga and junior guards Macy Smith and Cheyenne Stubbs each went for 10-plus points. Suguturaga was the squad's top scorer with 12 points. Smith and Stubbs each finished with 10, while Stubbs also totaled four rebounds and two steals.

The Aggies were unable to overcome a sluggish offensive start after struggling to find the bottom of the net early on. Utah State shot just 31.6 percent (6-of-19) from the floor in the first half as it faced a 32-18 deficit after two quarters.

After seeing the Wyoming lead balloon to 16 points early in the third quarter, the Aggies would claw back to bring the deficit within 10 . The third and fourth quarters were played evenly at 15-15 and 14-14, respectively, as USU was able to hold strong but couldn't make up any ground on the Cowgirls. The Aggie defense clamped down in the second half, limiting Wyoming to just 28.1 percent (9-of-32) shooting from the field in the final 20 minutes.

Freshman forward Gracie Johnson had a strong outing, going for five points, six rebounds and five blocks before fouling out after 17 minutes of action. This was Johnson's third time this season blocking at least five shots in a game.

Utah State finished the contest shooting 39.0 percent (16-of-41) from the floor, 33.3 percent (4-of-12) from 3-point range and 68.8 percent (11-of-16) at the charity stripe. Wyoming shot 37.7 percent (23-of-61) from the field, including 27.3 percent (6-of-22) from deep and 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from the free throw line.

The Cowgirls were paced by Allyson Fertig, who finished with team highs of 13 points and eight rebounds.
