EAGLE, Idaho – Utah State men's tennis won 4-0 on Friday against Montana in the first match of the Boise State Spring Fling in Eagle, Idaho. USU improves to 12-2 on the season and Montana falls to 9-6. 
 
The Aggies started the match by clinching the doubles point. Junior Sergi Micó Fenollar and graduate senior Bodin Zarkovic posted a 6-3 win at the No. 2 spot. At the No. 3 spot, freshman Mohammad Alkotop and junior David Martirosian won 6-3. 
 
Senior Stijn Paardekooper won at the No. 2 spot to start off the singles play (6-4, 6-1), followed by Martirosian winning in two sets at the No.4 spot (6-4, 7-6) and at No. 4 spot, Alkotop won in straight sets (7-5, 6-4) to clinch the match.
 
Zarkovic, Fenollar and freshman Rein Phillip were set to compete but did not finish as the Aggies got to four points to finish the match. 
 
USU will be back in action tomorrow for day two of the Boise State Spring Fling. They will take on Idaho at 10 am.
