Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Utah State men's tennis clinched its first Mountain West win of the season by defeating Air Force 4-2 on the Falcon's home court Saturday afternoon.
 
The Aggies took the lead early as they posted wins at the second and third positions to clinch the doubles point. Graduate senior Bodin Zarkovic and junior Sergi Micó Fenollar posted a 6-1 win at the second position, while freshman Mohammad Alkotop and junior David Martirosian won 6-3 at the third position. 
 
In singles play, freshman Philipp Rein earned the first win for the Aggies at the No. 6 spot in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) and was followed by Zarkovic posting a straight sets win at the No. 1 spot (6-3, 6-4). Alkotop then had the match-clinching point, which was decided by a tiebreak, in straight sets at the No. 5 spot (6-1, 7-6 (2)). 
 
In other matches, senior Stijn Paardekooper lost in straight sets at the No. 2 spot (1-6, 5-7) and junior Nuno Pinheiro lost in straight sets at the No. 4 spot (2-6, 1-6). Junior Sergi Mico Fenollar's match remained unfinished at the No. 3 spot (6-0, 3-6, 4-1, unfinished). 
 
Utah State returns to action next weekend as it hosts Boise State at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club on Saturday, April 6, at noon.
