OPENING TIPS
• With a victory against New Mexico, Utah State will win its first outright Mountain West regular season title in its 11 years in the league. With this year's MW title, USU has now won or shared 18 conference championship all-time (1918, 1926, 1930, 1935, 1936, 1980, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2019, 2024). USU was picked to finish ninth in the preseason polls under first-year head coach Danny Sprinkle.
 
• Utah State will honor guards Darius Brown II and Landon Brenchley for Senior Night on Saturday.
 
• Utah State men's basketball is ranked No. 22 in this week's Associated Press and Coaches Polls. This is the seventh week the Aggies have been ranked in both polls. USU was previously ranked No. 22 (Feb. 26), No. 22 (Feb. 5) No. 17 (Jan. 29), No. 18 (Jan. 22), No. 16 (Jan. 15), and No. 20 (Jan. 8) in the AP Poll, while it was No. 23 (Feb. 26), No. 21 (Feb. 5), No. 17 (Jan. 29), No. 20 (Jan. 22), No. 17 (Jan. 15) and No. 23 (Jan. 8) in the Coaches Poll.
 
• Utah State is 13-1 inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum this season and 27-3 the last two years.
 
• Head coach Danny Sprinkle was named the recipient of the Jim Phelan Award Mid-Season honors on Jan. 4, and the Naismith Coach of the Year Late Season Watch List on Feb. 23.
 
• Utah State junior wing Great Osobor has been named to the 2023-24 Lute Olson Award Mid-Season Watch List and is one of the top five candidates for the 2024 Karl Malone Award. Osobor was also one of 40 players named to the 2023-24 Oscar Robertson Trophy and All-America Watch List.
 
• Utah State ranks in the top 50 in the nation in several categories, including defensive 3-point field goal percentage (.279, 2nd), field goal percentage (.497, 8th), assists per game (16.57, 23rd), scoring margin (+10.53, 28th), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.46, 38th), rebounding margin (+4.70, 45th) and scoring offense (79.63, 49th).
 
• Graduate senior guard Darius Brown II ranks seventh in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.57), 14th in assists per game (6.30) and 40th in minutes played per game (35.64). 
 
• Junior wing Great Osobor ranks in the top 50 in the nation in field goal percentage (.578, 36th), rebounds per game (8.93, 49th) and defensive rebounds per game (6.23, 50th). 
 
• Utah State is 22-1 this season when scoring at least 70 points. 
 
• Utah State is one of just three teams in the nation returning zero points to its 2023-24 roster, joining New Mexico State and Northwestern State. The Aggies also have the second-fewest returning rebounds (0.004 percent) and are tied for the second-fewest returning assists (0.003 percent), both behind NMSU.
