LOGAN, Utah — Utah State track & field won two titles and logged seven top-five finishes on day one of the USU-hosted Aggie Invitational at Ralph Maughan Track Stadium on Friday evening.
Sophomore Logan Hammer won the men's pole vault, clearing 5.26 meters (17-3) to deliver Utah State its first title of the Aggie Invitational. Sophomore Javin Richards took second with a personal record mark of 4.91 meters (16-1.25).
In the women's javelin, senior Djamilliah Paepke-Chile won with a mark of 48.07 meters (157-8). Junior Madison Tareski placed second with a mark of 44.39 meters (145-7), improving her mark as ninth-best all-time in school history.
Freshman Ruby Jordan finished second with a personal record mark of 54.16 meters (177-8) in the women's hammer. Senior Alyssa McNutt took fifth with a PR throw of 51.57 meters (169-2).
In the men's javelin, freshman Walker Deede placed third with a PR mark of 63.60 meters (208-8). Freshman Kace Jones and senior Calvin Knapp rounded out the top five with personal-record throws at fourth and fifth with marks of 60.04 meters (196-11) and 51.14 meters (167-9), respectively.
Tomorrow, the Aggie Invitational will continue, starting at 11 a.m. at Ralph Maughan Track Stadium.
