Utah State Softball Drops 6-0 Game at Fresno State

FRESNO, California – Utah State softball (21-18, 5-8 MW) dropped the final contest of a two-game series against Fresno State Sunday afternoon, losing 6-0.
 
Mistakes plagued the Aggie defense throughout the contest, as Fresno State scored three unearned runs on six Utah State errors. 
 
The first four Bulldog runs came across four different innings. Fresno State first scored on an RBI single in the bottom of the first. It improved its lead with unearned runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings, before scoring a pair of runs in the fifth to make it 6-0. The Aggies had opportunities to narrow the gap in the fifth and sixth innings, leaving a pair of runners stranded in each, but were never able to bring one home. 
 
In the circle, senior Jessica Stewart started for USU and pitched the first 5.0 innings with two earned runs. She was relieved in the sixth by graduate Katie Zuniga. Four different Aggie players recorded hits, as USU recorded four hits to Fresno State's 10.

Utah State (21-18, 5-8 MW) now travels to Cedar City, Utah, for a single game against Southern Utah on Wednesday, April 10, at 1 p.m.
