LOGAN, Utah - The Mountain West Conference announced its men's tennis all-tournament team on Friday and Utah State had three players honored in senior
Stijn Paardekooper, junior
David Martirosian and freshman
Mohammad Alkotop.
Paardekooper was named to the all-tournament singles team, while Martirosian and Alkotop were named to the all-tournament doubles team.
As the top seed in the 2024 Mountain West Championship, Utah State lost to fourth-seeded San Diego State in the semifinals 4-3. Against the Aztecs, Paardekooper posted a straight sets win at No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-2), while Martirosian and Alkotop notched a 6-1 win at the third doubles position.
Paardekooper and Alkotop also both earned all-conference recognition from the MW prior to the conference championship as Paardekooper was named to the MW singles and doubles team, while Alkotop was named the MW Freshman of the Year and to the conference's singles team.
