LOGAN, Utah – A trio of Utah State tennis players were named academic all-district, as selected by the Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC). On the women's side, graduate senior Zeynep Naz Ozturk and junior Indya Nespor earned the distinction, while on the men's side, junior Sergi Micó Fenollar was honored.

The 2024 academic all-district teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early August.

Ozturk, a native of Istanbul, Turkey, is currently working on her master's degree in financial economics after earning a bachelor's degree in finance. She earned both academic all-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors in 2022 and 2023 and has been named a USU Whitesides Scholar-Athlete each of the past three years.

This season, Ozturk Posted an 8-9 singles record and a 7-14 doubles record during the dual match play, competing primarily at the first position in both. She recorded a critical win in singles play against Fresno State in the first round of the MW Championships to help the Aggies advance for the first time since 2019.

Nespor, a native of Encinitas, California, is currently working on her bachelor's degree in kinesiology. She earned both academic all-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors in 2023 and was named a USU Whitesides Scholar-Athlete each of the past two years.

This season, Nespor led the team in singles wins as she posted a 10-6 record in dual match competition while competing primarily at the fourth and fifth positions. She also earned a 2-3 doubles record while competing primarily at the second and third positions. Nespor opened the season with a four-match winning streak in singles play, including earning a win over BYU. She was also able to earn an important singles win in Utah State's MW Tournament victory over Fresno State.

Micó Fenollar, a native of Cocentaina, Spain, is currently earning his bachelor's degree in kinesiology. He was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2023, while also earning academic all-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors each of the past two seasons.

This season, Micó Fenollar earned all-Mountain West honors in both singles and doubles as he helped the Aggies to a conference regular season title. He compiled a 14-4 record in singles play and 11-3 in doubles play during the dual competition season, while competing solely at the third position for singles play and primarily at the second position in doubles play alongside teammate Bodin Zarkovic
