LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football had 11 players named to the Athlon Sports preseason all-Mountain West teams at 12 positions, it was announced by the publication on Thursday.
 
Utah State's 12 all-conference selections tied for the sixth-most in the league behind Boise State (21), Colorado State (17), UNLV (17), Fresno State (15) and Wyoming (13), tied with Hawai'i (12), and ahead of San Diego State (10), San José State (8), Nevada (7), New Mexico (7) and Air Force (5).
 
Utah State had two players named to the first team in senior wide receiver Jalen Royals and junior safety Ike Larsen. Three players were named to the second team in senior running back Rahsul Faison, senior defensive end Blaine Spires and junior cornerback Avante Dickerson. Three Aggies garnered preseason third-team accolades in graduate senior tight end Broc Lane, senior punter Stephen Kotsanlee and senior wide receiver Micah Davis, who was recognized on the third team as both a wide receiver and punt returner. And three Aggies were named to the preseason fourth team in graduate senior cornerback Jaiden Francois, senior offensive lineman Falepule Alo and junior defensive tackle Gabriel Iniguez Jr.
 
Six of the Aggies named preseason all-MW by Athlon Sports have garnered previous accolades. Royals was named a College Football Network Third Team All-American and first team all-MW selection last year, while Larsen was named a College Football Network Honorable Mention All-American and first team all-MW selection in 2023, and a College Football News Honorable Mention Freshman All-American and a second-team all-MW selection in 2022. Davis and Lane both garnered honorable mention all-MW honors in 2023, while Kotsanlee was named honorable mention all-MW following the 2020 season. And Iniguez was named a College Football Network Conference USA second team selection and a Phil Steele Conference USA fourth team honoree following the 2023 season at New Mexico State.
 
Fall Schedule
Utah State opens the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, as it hosts Robert Morris and begins Mountain West play at Boise State on Saturday, Oct. 5.
