LOGAN, Utah – Utah State graduate senior long snapper
Jacob Garcia is a nominee for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy and Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, a pair of awards recognizing players for their performance on the field as well as their impact in the community.
Garcia was also a Wuerffel Trophy and Allstate AFCA Good Works Team nominee during the 2023 season.
Garcia, a native of Anaheim, California (Servite HS), has served as the Aggies' long snapper since the 2021 campaign, appearing in 40 games overall. He has recorded a pair of tackles during his career, both against Colorado State.
A two-time academic all-Mountain West recipient, Garcia is actively involved in community outreach in Cache Valley. Some of the many endeavors he volunteers for include working with local elementary schools to help celebrate the reading achievements of its students, being an active participant with numerous events on campus working with youth and women's clinics, and raising awareness for such things as cancer, sexual assault and sexual abuse of women.
At the 2023 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Garcia received the Humanitarian Award, which is annually given to a student-athlete from each team for exemplary community service and leadership efforts.
Garcia was also named the Male Walk-on of the Year at Utah State's annual U-Star Awards Banquet this past spring.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football athletes for their unwavering commitment to community service and their "good works" off the field. Nominees are eligible for the Wuerffel Trophy, awarded annually to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership and performance on and off the field.
