LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's tennis head coach
Aaron Paajanen announced the addition of Roman Venger to the team's roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Venger, a native of Lviv, Ukraine, has been a member of the Ukrainian National Team since he was 14 years old. He holds a career-high world-ranking International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior score of 313, and he currently is ranked 329.
"We are excited to welcome Roman to Utah State," Paajanen said. "Roman is a very talented player with a good amount of experience. We are looking forward to Roman making an immediate impact."
Over the summer, Venger was a finalist in the ITF Junior Club Tennis Lleida-Catalonia Open. During the tournament, he posted wins in straight sets in the first, second and third rounds. In the semifinal match, he advanced to the finals by posting a three-set win.
