LOGAN, Utah — Utah State football senior Falepule Alo and sophomore Tavo Motu'apuaka have been named to the 2024 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List it was announced on Thursday.
 
Alo, a 6-foot-1, 300-pound offensive lineman from Gonzales, Louisiana, played in 10 games during the 2023 season, making eight starts at center. He saw 650 snaps during the season and had 39.0 knockdowns, including career-highs of 91 snaps and 8.0 knockdowns against Fresno State. For his career, Alo has totaled over 1,600 snaps across 32 games.
 
Motu'apuaka, a 6-foot-5, 335-pound offensive lineman from Honolulu, Hawai'i, started all seven games he appeared in during the 2023 season as a redshirt freshman. He saw action in 397 snaps on the year and tallied 12.0 knockdowns, including career-best marks of 74 snaps against James Madison and 3.0 knockdowns against Colorado State.
 
The duo helped the Aggies to an average of 184.4 rushing yards per game in 2023, ranking 30th in the nation and fourth in the Mountain West.
 
The Polynesian Player of the Year award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry. The 2024 watch list is composed of 96 players from 37 different FBS schools. Five finalists will be unveiled on Dec. 3 and the winner will be announced on Dec. 17.
 
Fall Schedule
Utah State opens the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, as it hosts Robert Morris and begins Mountain West play at Boise State on Saturday, Oct. 5.
