Game Recap: Women's Soccer |
WAIPAHU, Hawaii - Utah State soccer (2-0, 0-0 MW) improved to 2-0 on the season Sunday afternoon, using a big first half and a dominant defensive performance to defeat Hawai'i 3-0 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

After a quiet 20 minutes to open the game, the Aggies opened up a scoring onslaught, netting three goals in just three minutes of action. First, it was a 21st minute strike from senior forward Bizzy Arevalo with an assist from junior forward Tess Werts. Then, Werts found one of her own just over a minute later, scoring a right-footer with a helper from graduate defender Kylie Olsen. Sophomore midfielder Summer Diamond capped off the trifecta in the 24th minute, as the freshman forward duo of Ellie Hendrix and Austin Miller each recorded their first career assists.

With a 3-0 lead in hand, the Aggies controlled the scoreless remainder of the contest. In total, USU out-shot Hawai'i 21-6 with 12 different Utah State players registering shots.
