LOGAN, Utah — Utah State football junior
Robert Briggs Jr. has been named to the 2025 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List.
Briggs, a 5-foot-6, 185-pound running back from Bellville, Texas (Bellville HS), has appeared in 21 games in his career at USU, including three starts. He has amassed 773 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 154 career attempts, including a line of 80 rushes for 420 yards and two TDs last season. Briggs posted a career-best 101 yards on nine carries against Idaho State, scoring a pair of touchdowns including a career-long 58-yard score.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity. Candidates must have either been born in Texas, graduated from a Texas high school or played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year Division I Texas college.
Fall Schedule
Utah State opens the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, as it hosts Robert Morris and begins Mountain West play at Boise State on Saturday, Oct. 5.
