LOGAN, Utah — Utah State football senior
Rahsul Faison has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Doak Walker Award it was announced on Tuesday.
Faison, a 5-foot-11 running back from Pottstown, Pennsylvania (Salisbury (CT) HS/Snow College), has also been named to the preseason all-Mountain West second team by Athlon Sports, to the third team by Phil Steele, and was given honorable mention by College Football Network.
Last season, Faison rushed for 736 yards on 118 attempts, averaging 6.2 yards per carry, to go along with five touchdowns. He finished the season ranked ninth in the MW with 56.6 yards per game. Against Nevada, Faison rushed for a career-high 181 yards on a career-best 22 carries, which is the most rushing yards by an Aggie since 2016.
The Doak Walker Award, named after the legendary SMU three-time All-American running back, is awarded to the nation's top running back. The 2024 list features 87 candidates and will be narrowed to 10 finalists in November. Three semifinalists will then be announced with the winner being announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN in December 2024.

Utah State opens the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, as it hosts Robert Morris and begins Mountain West play at Boise State on Saturday, Oct. 5.
