LOGAN, Utah  — Utah State cross country visits Orem, Utah, for the BYU Autumn Classic on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Lakeside Sports Complex. The women's three mile will begin at 9 a.m. and the men's four mile at 9:40 a.m. (MT).

"We are splitting our team up so we have some kids race this week and then others race next week. For those racing at BYU, it will be a great opportunity for them. We need to be patient in the early part of the race as I expect some teams to be very aggressive in the early part. If our kids can be patient early and compete really well in the second half of the race, I believe we can do very well."

TOUGH COMPETITION
The Aggie women will face two ranked opponents in No. 6 BYU and No. 23 Utah Valley. In the Mountain Region, the Aggies are ranked No. 8, while the Cougars are No. 2 and the Wolverines are No. 5.
 
In the field for the men's four mile, USU will be taking on No. 2 BYU. In the Mountain Region, the Aggies are ranked No. 9, while the Cougars are No. 1.

LAST MEET
Utah State women's cross country opened the 2024 season with a dominant 5K victory as all five scoring runners finished in the top five, totaling 15 points at the Utah State Alumni Challenge on August 31. The USU men took second with 47 points in the 7K as three runners finished in the top 10.
 
Senior Mimi Miyazawa won the women's 5K with a time of 17:59.14, while freshman Jedidiah Megargel was the top finisher for USU, coming in seventh with a time of 21:05.29. Megargel was named Mountain West Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Week for his performance.
