• Utah State is 9-9 all-time against current members of the American Athletic Conference and will be meeting Temple for the first time. USU's last game against an AAC opponent was in the 2022 SERVPRO First Responder Bowl when it lost to Memphis 38-10.
• Interim head coach
Nate Dreiling, who was elevated from defensive coordinator on July 2, is the youngest head coach at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level as he is 33 years old. Dreiling is just the 10th coach in program history to win his first game as head coach. He is also one of only two interim head coaches in the nation along with Fresno State's Tim Skipper.
• Utah State is 3-2 in its last five road games and has scored at least 30 points in each of those road wins. Over the last three-plus years, USU is 12-8 (.600) in road games.
