LOGAN, Utah - Utah State (1-0) plays its first road game of the 2024 season at Memorial Coliseum against No. 13 USC (1-0) on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m. (MT).  The game will be televised live on the Big Ten Network (Xfinity Ch. 403/754, DISH Ch. 405, DirecTV Ch. 610) with Guy Haberman (play-by-play),  Yogi Roth (analyst) and Rhett Lewis (analyst) on the call.

KICKOFF COVERAGE
• Interim head coach Nate Dreiling, who was elevated from defensive coordinator on July 2, is the youngest head coach at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level as he is 33 years old. Dreiling is just the 10th coach in program history to win his first game as head coach. He is also one of only two interim head coaches in the nation along with Fresno State's Tim Skipper.
 
• Senior PK Elliott Nimrod was named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week as he scored 12 points last weekend against Robert Morris as he was 3-of-3 on field goals, including a career long of 50 yards, and 3-of-4 on extra points. He also had a career-best eight touchbacks on his eight kickoffs.
 
• Utah State is 6-66 all-time against Associated Press-ranked teams, but has won five of its last 17 meetings, including its 46-13 win at No. 19 San Diego State in the 2021 Mountain West Championship game, which was its last win against an AP top-25 team. USU's last meeting against a nationally ranked team was its 2023 season opener when it lost at No. 25 Iowa, 24-14. No. 13 USC is the highest ranked opponent USU has faced since it played at No. 1 Alabama in 2022. The highest-ranked team USU has ever defeated was at No. 18 BYU (35-20) in 2014.
 
• Utah State is seventh in the nation in total offense (646.0 ypg), 12th in rushing offense (303.0 ypg) and 24th in the nation in passing offense (343.0). USU also did not allow a sack during its first game of the 2024 season.
 
• Utah State is 3-1 in its last four road games and has scored at least 30 points in each of those road wins. Over the last three years, USU is 12-7 in road games.

The last time the two teams played one another was on Sept. 10, 2016, in Los Angeles as USC won that game, 45-7.
