LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's tennis senior Sergi Micó Fenollar was named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the week after he clinched a title at the 67^th Annual Men's Intercollegiate Championships this past weekend. With this victory, he has secured a wildcard entry into an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) event. 
 
Micó Fenollar went 5-0 in the tournament and did not drop a set in all his matches. He started the tournament by posting a straight set win in the round of 32 over Justin Lamy from UC Riverside (6-3, 6-1). 
 
In the round of 16, he posted a win in straight sets over Anthony Weingarten from Kennesaw State. He carried this momentum into the quarter and semifinals of the tournament, where he posted wins over Arizona's Inaki Cabrera-Bello and Sasha Rozin, respectively, in straight sets.
 
In the championship match, Micó Fenollar faced top-seeded Neo Nieder from San Diego. He dominated the match and won in straight sets (6-1, 6-4). 
 
The Aggies will split their squad next week, competing at both the Idaho State Invitational in Pocatello from Wednesday, Oct. 2, through Friday, Oct. 4, and the Mountain West Conference Individuals in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Wednesday, Oct. 2, through Saturday, Oct. 5.
