Utah State opened its 2025 season with a 7-0 home win against Weber State last weekend. USU came out strong in doubles, dominating each of the three matches to claim the early point. At the top spot, senior

Mohammad Alkotop and freshman
Dmitri Goubin at the No. 2 position plus senior Sergi Micó Fenollar and sophomore
Keanu Rigby at the No. 3 position each posted 6-1 wins for the Aggies. USU continued to maintain the momentum in singles play as Micó Fenollar, Martirosian and Alkotop posted straight-set wins at the first three positions to clinch the Aggie victory. Playing the rest of the matches out, freshmen
Roman Venger and
Eemil Pasanen post come-from-behind victories at the fourth and fifth positions, respectively, while Goubin completed the Aggie sweep with a win in straight sets at the No. 6s.
SERIES HISTORY
Utah State is 1-4 all-time against Portland, including an 0-1 road record, and 6-1 all-time against Portland State, including an 0-1 road record. The last time USU faced Portland was in 2023 as the Pilots posted a 6-1 home win. The last time USU played the Vikings was in 2012 with the Aggies notching a 6-1 home win.
