LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's basketball guard/forward
Taliyah Logwood was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday. This is Logwood's first time in her career earning weekly honors from the MW.
Logwood returned from injury to help spearhead USU's 70-64 win at San José State last week. The freshman from Richmond, California, posted career-highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds, recording her first career double-double. Logwood scored 10 of Utah State's 21 points in the first quarter, including going 2-of-2 from 3-point range. Logwood also tied for the team lead with two steals in the game.
Logwood's double-double is only the 11th by an Aggie freshman in program history, and the first since Shannon Dufficy recorded five during the 2016-17 season.
This is USU's second time this season earning Freshman of the Week from the MW after guard
Carlie Latta earned the honor on Dec. 30, 2024.
Logwood and the Aggies are back in action as they travel to take on Air Force on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m.
