KICKOFF COVERAGE
• Utah State and Boise State are playing one another on national CBS for the third time in the last five years as the Aggies hosted the Broncos on Black Friday in 2021, and the Broncos hosted the Aggies on Black Friday in 2022.
• With its win at Fresno State last weekend, Utah State is bowl eligible for the 12th time in the last 15 years after playing in just six bowl games in its first 119 years. USU played in five straight bowl games from 2011-15 and won three straight from 2012-14, both of which are school records.
• Utah State is 5-0 at home for the first time since the 2018 team posted a 6-0 home record. Overall, USU has won seven straight home games dating back to last season which is its longest home winning streak since notching 10 straight home victories from the 2017 to 2019 seasons.
• With a win against Boise State, Utah State would tie the 1907, 2012, 2014 and 2018 teams for the most home wins (6) in a single season, and record just the seventh undefeated home season in the 58-year history of Maverik Stadium, along with the 1968 (4-0), 1972 (5-0), 1982 (4-0), 2012 (6-0), 2014 (6-0) and 2018 (6-0) teams. Overall, USU has had 31 teams record undefeated home seasons.
• Utah State and Boise State have won three of the last four Mountain West Championships as USU won the title in 2021 and BSU won it in 2023 and 2024. USU and BSU are two of five MW teams to win a MW Championship since USU joined the league in 2013. Boise State has won five MW Championships, followed by Fresno State (3), San Diego State (2), Utah State (1) and San José State (1).
• Graduate QB Bryson Barnes has eight rushing touchdowns this year which is tied for the most in a single season in school history by a quarterback. Chuckie Keeton set the record in 2012. Barnes ranks 29th all-time at USU with 1,174 yards. Barnes has 18 touchdown passes on the season and is one shy of entering the top 10 in school history. Barnes holds the school record for 100-yard rushing games by a quarterback with five, including three this season.
• Barnes ranks first or second in the Mountain West in five different statistical categories including leading the league in total touchdowns with 18 and is second in points responsible for per game (15.1).
SERIES vs. BOISE STATE
• Utah State and Boise State will be meeting for the 30th time in series history this weekend in what is the 12th-most played rivalry in school history.
• Utah State trails in the all-time series against Boise State, 24-5, which includes a 3-11 record at home. USU has lost nine straight and 21 of the last 22 games in the series as its only win during that stretch was a 52-26 home win in 2015 against No. 21 BSU. The first game played in the series was on Oct. 15, 1975, in Boise, with USU winning 42-19. Last year, Boise State notched a 62-30 home win. The last time the two teams played in Logan, the Broncos notched a 45-10 win in 2022.
