LOGAN, Utah — College Sports Communicators announced its 2025 Academic All-District soccer honorees on Tuesday, with six Utah State players garnering recognition. Aggies to earn the distinction include graduate midfielder Rine Yonaha, senior forwards Tess Werts and Kaylie Chambers, sophomore forwards Mia Mullenmeister and Ellie Hendrix, and sophomore defender Kaeda Wilson.
Yonaha, a native of Okinawa, Japan, started 19 games for the Aggies this year while making 20 appearances. Playing nearly 1,600 minutes, Yonaha totaled 11 points on three goals and five assists, including an assist in the Mountain West Tournament semifinal game against Air Force and a goal in the championship match against Boise State to earn a spot on the Mountain West All-Tournament Team. She recorded 29 shots on the year, 11 of which were on goal. Yonaha is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree, and a three-time MW Scholar-Athlete. Yonaha is earning her second degree from Utah State, a bachelor's degree in sociology.
Werts, a native of Portland, Oregon, played in all 23 games for the Aggies this year with 22 starts. She ranked second on the team with 16 points, totaling five goals and a team-high-tying six assists to earn All-Mountain West First Team accolades. Werts scored four goals against Fresno State to set a program record and tie the Mountain West all-time mark. She also recorded an assist in the NCAA Tournament first round match against BYU. On the year, Werts took a team-high 52 shots with 19 on frame. She is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree, and a three-time MW Scholar-Athlete. Werts is earning her bachelor's degree in marketing.
Chambers, a native of Arvada, Colorado, played and started all 23 matches this year for Utah State. She led the team with 18 points, coming on a team-best six goals and a team-high-tying six assists to earn First Team All-Mountain West accolades. Chambers scored game-winners against Wyoming and at San Diego State, and recorded an assist in the Mountain West Tournament championship game to earn a spot on the MW All-Tournament Team. She took 39 shots on the year with 19 on goal. Chambers is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree, and a three-time MW Scholar-Athlete. Chambers is earning her bachelor's degree in kinesiology.
Mullenmeister, a native of Mitchell, South Dakota, played all 23 matches for Utah State this year with 11 starts. In 859 minutes on the pitch, she totaled 13 points, tied for third-most on the team, with five goals and three assists. Mullenmeister scored game-winning goals against Weber State and Nevada, and scored a goal in the team's NCAA Tournament first round matchup against BYU. She totaled 24 shots on the year with 14 on goal. Mullenmeister earned Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors last season. Mullenmeister is earning her bachelor's degree in health education and promotion.
Hendrix, a native of St. George, Utah, played in 21 games for USU this season with three starts. In 737 minutes of action, she totaled five points on a goal and three assists, including assists in back-to-back games against Nevada and San José State. She also took 15 shots with nine on frame. Hendrix earned Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors last season. Hendrix is earning her bachelor's degree in psychology.
Wilson, a native of West Jordan, Utah, helped anchor the league's top defense this season as she started all 23 matches and played a team-high 2,091 minutes. As a team, the Aggies allowed just 21 total goals this year for a 0.91 GAA, while earning nine shutouts. Wilson took 15 shots with six on frame, scoring two goals, coming in back-to-back games against Nevada and San José State. She played every minute of the postseason for Utah State on the defensive back line. Wilson earned Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors last season. Wilson is earning her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.
