LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis will be represented by sophomore
Jean-Baptiste Badon this weekend as he competes in Berkeley, California, at the 2025 ITA West Sectional Championships, the final qualifying event for the NCAA Individual Championships later this month. The tournament runs Thursday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 9.
Badon earned his spot in the sectional field by reaching the semifinals at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships, becoming the lone Aggie to advance into NCAA qualification territory.
The West Sectional, hosted by California at the Hellman Tennis Complex and Channing Courts, features a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw with athletes from more than 10 programs. The stakes are high: six singles players from each section, the four semifinalists, and two quarterfinal playoff winners will earn berths into the NCAA Singles Championship. In doubles, three teams (the two finalists and the third-place playoff winner) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship.
