KICKOFF COVERAGE
• Utah State (6-6, 4-4 MW) is playing in a bowl game for the fourth time in the last five years, 12th time in the last 15 seasons and for the 18th time in school history, as it faces Washington State (6-6) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Monday, Dec. 22, at noon. It will be the sixth meeting between the two programs, including the first in a bowl game, with WSU holding a 3-2 advantage.

• Utah State's 12 bowl appearances since 2011 is tied for the second most among non-power conference teams behind only Louisiana (13).

• Utah State will be playing in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl for the sixth time in the 29-year history of the event, which is the most appearances by any team. USU played in the inaugural Humanitarian Bowl in 1997, then played in back-to-back Famous Idaho Potato Bowls in 2011 and 2012, along with an appearance in 2015. USU's last time playing in the bowl was in 2023.

• Utah State is 6-11 all-time in its previous 17 bowl games, including a 1-4 record in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Since 2011, USU is 5-6 in its last 11 bowl games.

• Utah State head coach Bronco Mendenhall is 7-7 in 14 previous bowl games as a head coach. He has led 17 of his 19 teams to bowl eligibility, which ranks as the second-most at the FBS level among active coaches. Mendenhall is the eighth head coach in program history to led USU to a bowl game and is the fourth to do so in his first year along with Matt Wells (2013), Gary Andersen (2019), and Blake Anderson (2021).

• Graduate QB Bryson Barnes is one of six FBS players this year with at least 2,500 passing yards and 700 rushing yards. He's the fifth Mountain West player to do so all-time, including Devon Dampier of New Mexico last season led by current Aggies head coach Bronco Mendenhall.

• Utah State's running backs (Miles Davis, Javon Jacobs, Noah White) have combined to catch 71 passes for 648 yards and five touchdowns this season and that group ranks second in the nation at the FBS level in receptions and receiving yards and tied for first in touchdowns.

• Utah State's defensive has allowed just 17 points following 10 Aggie turnovers this season. Offensively, USU has scored 45 points following 14 takeaways on the year.

SERIES vs. WASHINGTON STATE
• Utah State and Washington State will be meeting for the sixth time with the Cougars holding a 3-2 advantage in the series. WSU posted a 49-28 home win in the last meeting between the two programs on Nov. 9, 2024. USU won the previous two games against WSU with a 26-23 road win on Sept. 4, 2021, and a 34-14 neutral field win in Spokane on Sept. 30, 1961. Washington State won the first two games in the series with a 33-0 home win in 1949 and a 46-6 road win in 1950.
