Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men's basketball opened the Mountain West portion of its 2025-26 slate in dominant fashion Saturday afternoon in front of a sold-out Dee Glen Smith Spectrum crowd, dealing Colorado State its third loss of the season with a 100-58 victory to improve to 10-1 on the year.

In what was the 110th all-time matchup between Utah State and Colorado State, the Aggies earned the largest victory in series history against its fourth-most played rival. The 42-point win was the team's third-most lopsided victory ever in a Mountain West game.

Six different Aggie players scored in double-figures as Utah State pounced on the Rams right from the start. USU scored the first 12 points of the game, while it took just six minutes for junior guard Mason Falslev to score 12 of his 18 points. The 12-point advantage very quickly doubled into a 24-point Aggie lead, sparked by a personal 11-0 run from senior guard MJ Collins Jr., as USU continued to pile on while opening up a 32-8 advantage just over 10 minutes in.

Utah State made 14 of its first 20 shots of the day, while holding Colorado State to just four makes in its first 20. While the Rams fired back, scoring nine of the final 11 points of the half, the Aggies remained in firm control with a 45-24 halftime lead.

The second half was more of the same, as USU continued to pile on. A 27-8 run during an eight-minute second-half stretch by the Aggies helped turn a 24-point game into a 43-point game. Freshman forward Adlan Elamin found his scoring touch in the second half as he scored 11 of his career-best 15 points during the final 20 minutes. Elamin also had a career night on the glass, pulling down eight rebounds in the contest.

Offensive efficiency was key throughout for the Aggies, who connected on 64 percent of their shots from the floor and 57 percent of their 3-pointers, both season-best marks. This was the team's most efficient night from the floor since 2022.

Utah State doubled up the Rams on the glass, pulling down 40 rebounds to just 20 for CSU. This included 16 offensive boards, the second-straight game with at least as many. Leading USU on the boards was senior guard Kolby King, who came off the bench to record a near-double-double of 10 points and nine rebounds, while also tallying four assists and two steals.

Along with Falslev, Collins Jr., Elamin and King, other double-figure scorers for Utah State included graduate guard Drake Allen, who went for 12 points, two boards, a team-best six assists and two steals, and junior forward Karson Templin, who totaled 10 points in 15 minutes of action.

The Aggies imposed their will down low, with 48 points in the paint to just 20 for the Rams. They also out-scored CSU 17-0 on the fast break, and scored 27 points off of turnovers while allowing just 11.

The USU defense limited a Colorado State team, which entered the game leading the nation in both field goal and 3-point percentage, to just 37 percent shooting from the floor and 30 percent shooting from deep.

In total, Utah State shot 63.8 percent (37-of-58) from the floor, 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from 3-point range and 58.3 percent (14-of-24) at the charity stripe. Colorado State shot 36.7 percent (18-of-49) from the field, 30.4 percent (7-of-23) from behind the arc and 78.9 percent (15-of-19) at the free throw line.
