LOGAN, Utah – Utah State soccer had three players selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Pacific Region teams, it was announced on Tuesday. This is just the second time in program history that more than two Aggies have earned all-region honors in a season.

Earning a spot on the all-region first-team was freshman defender Summer Sofonia, while the senior forward duo of Tess Werts and Kaylie Chambers each earned second-team accolades.

Sofonia, a native of Hyrum, Utah, is the only freshman in the country to earn first-team all-region accolades, and the first freshman to do so in program history. She is also one of just 15 freshmen to earn all-region accolades of any type in any region. Sofonia helped anchor one of the nation's top defenses this season as she started all 23 matches and played 2,037 minutes, the second-most on the squad. As a team, the Aggies allowed just 21 total goals this year for a 0.91 GAA, while earning nine shutouts. Sofonia played every minute of the postseason for Utah State on the defensive back line, helping lead the Aggies to their third-straight Mountain West Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.

Werts, a native of Portland, Oregon, played in all 23 games for the Aggies this year with 22 starts. She ranked second on the team with 16 points, totaling five goals and a team-high-tying six assists to earn All-Mountain West First Team accolades. Werts scored four goals against Fresno State to set a program record and tie the Mountain West all-time mark. She also recorded an assist in the NCAA Tournament first round match against BYU. On the year, Werts took a team-high 52 shots with 19 on frame. This is her second-straight season earning all-region honors, after also earning second-team accolades in 2024.

Chambers, a native of Arvada, Colorado, played and started all 23 matches this year for Utah State. She led the team with 18 points, coming on a team-best six goals and a team-high-tying six assists to earn First Team All-Mountain West accolades. Chambers scored game-winners against Wyoming and at San Diego State, and recorded an assist in the Mountain West Tournament championship game to earn a spot on the MW All-Tournament Team. She took 39 shots on the year with 19 on goal.
