Aggies Ring in 2026 Hosting San José State on Saturday

• Utah State rings in the 2026 calendar year at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Saturday, hosting Mountain West-foe San José State at 2 p.m.

• The Aggies enter the contest 11-1. This is tied for the best 12-game start in program history, and is the seventh time in program history USU has opened a year 11-1 or better. It's also the third-straight 11-1 or better start for the team. 

• USU is 2-0 in league play, most recently earning a 72-63 win at Fresno State on Tuesday.

• Utah State made a statement in its Mountain West opener, annihilating Colorado State 100-58 on Dec. 20. This was the third-largest margin of victory in a MW game in program history, and was CSU's worst loss since 2010. 

• USU currently ranks No. 20 in the NET Rankings. The Aggies are the highest-ranked MW squad and are one of eight teams from the league in the top-100. USU is also receiving votes in both the AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll.  

• Senior guard MJ Collins Jr. ranks 36th in the nation this season with 19.9 points per game, as he's scored 20-plus points in six of 12 games this year.

• As a team, Utah State currently ranks fifth in the NCAA in steals, averaging 11.0 per contest. The duo of Mason Falslev and Drake Allen each rank among the nation's leaders in takeaways — Falslev ranking ninth in the country with 2.83 steals per contest, Allen ranking 30th with 2.27.

• Utah State currently ranks in the top 75 in the nation in several major statistical categories, including steals (5th - 11.0),  turnovers forced (13th - 16.58), fastbreak points (15th - 17.92), field goal percentage (15th - .517), winning percentage (21st - .917), scoring margin (26th - +18.3), assists (34th - 18.3), turnover margin (34th - +3.8), scoring defense (41st - 66.4), 3-point field goal percentage (44th - .376), field goal percentage defense (54th - .401), rebounding margin (59th - +6.7), scoring offense (63rd - 84.8), and bench points (70th - 30.17).

• Saturday's game will be the 97th all-time matchup between Utah State and Fresno State, the fifth-most played rivalry in USU program history. The Aggies lead the all-time series 73-23, including a 42-4 record at home. USU has won 34 of the past 36 matchups overall.
