Aggies Travel to Albuquerque for Battle Between League’s Top Two Squads

• Utah State's .880 winning percentage is the third best in Division I basketball this season. The only teams ahead of the Aggies in win percentage are Drake (.920 - 22-2) and Auburn (.917 - 22-2). Just four teams have 22 or more wins, and just six teams have two or fewer losses.

• Sunday's matchup features the top two teams in the Mountain West standings, with league-leader New Mexico entering at 13-1 and Utah State sitting one game back at 12-2. With just six games remaining in the regular season, this contest has major implications for the MW regular season title and seedings for the conference tournament.

• Utah State and New Mexico are each receiving votes in both national polls. USU is the highest-ranked NET team in the league at 38, with New Mexico closely behind at 40. 

• USU's 12-2 start to MW play is its best 14-game start since joining the league.

• Aggie head coach Jerrod Calhoun has won 22 of his first 25 games at the helm of the program. His 22 wins are the second-most most among first-year head coaches in Division I this season.

• Utah State ranks fifth in the nation with 18.5 assists per game. The program record for a season is 18.0 in 2021-22. The team's assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.68 ranks seventh nationally. On the season, USU has 462 total assists with just 275 turnovers.

• USU has one of the most well-balanced and efficient offenses in the country this season. The team's offensive rating of 119.5 ranks ninth nationally. The Aggies rank fourth in the country in field goal percentage field goal percentage (.498) and are sixth in 2-point field goal percentage (.589).

• Sophomore guard Mason Falslev is one of three players in the country this season to have totaled at least 57 steals and 155 rebounds. He is also one of just three players currently averaging at least 14 points, six rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals per game.

• The Aggies are 10-1 away from home this year, including 7-1 in true road games. This is tied for the fourth-best road winning percentage in the NCAA.

• This will be the 49th all-time meeting between Utah State and New Mexico, a series which began in 1952. The Aggies lead the series 34-14, including an 11-10 advantage in Albuquerque. USU has won eight of the past 10 meetings between the sides.
