DENVER, Colorado - Utah State men's tennis fell to Denver, 5-2, on Friday evening at the Denver Tennis Park.
  
Doubles
The Pioneers claimed the doubles point with wins at the second and third positions of the lineup. At the top spot, senior David Martirosian and freshman Eliot Nobel had battled to a 6-5 lead at the time the point was clinched.
 
Singles
Utah State battled throughout singles play, but Denver's momentum continued with singles wins at the first, third, fourth and fifth positions to clinch the win. Despite the clinch, however, the Aggies continued to fight and reeled in several points back from the Pioneers. At the sixth spot, freshman Eemil Pasanen scored USU's first point of the match, winning his first set and coming through in a third-set super tiebreak for a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-5) victory. Sophomore Mohammad Alkotop emerged victorious shortly thereafter with a straight-set win at the second position, 7-6 (3), 6-2.

Utah State remains in Denver, Colorado, for a neutral contest against Jacksonville State on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2:30 p.m. (MT).
