LOGAN, Utah — Utah State track and field sophomore
Walker Cole was named the Mountain West Men's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
In his first competition in an Aggie uniform since 2022, Cole finished in third place in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:26.89 at last weekend's Utah Tech Invitational. The native of Birmingham, Alabama, set the fastest time in the conference and the 42nd-fastest time in the country so far this outdoor season.
Cole earned his third career MW weekly accolades, having previously won MW Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Week honors twice in 2021. The sophomore became the first Aggie to earn weekly honors this outdoor season. Junior

Utah State will next compete at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, on Thursday-Saturday, March 27-29, and the UVU Collegiate Invitational on Friday, March 28.
