LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis is set for a road matchup against Boise State on Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m. The Aggies will face the Broncos at the Appleton Tennis Center in Boise, Idaho.

HISTORY
While Utah State trails Boise State in the all-time series, 12-38, the Aggies have built momentum in recent years. USU holds a winning 5-4 record at home and has secured seven consecutive home victories against the Broncos from 2006 to 2021. The Aggies have consistently dominated their home court, including a commanding 7-0 win in their last meeting in 2021.

Dmitri Goubin were also in a tiebreak at the second position before the match was abandoned. In singles play, the Aggies responded strongly. Senior Sergi Micó Fenollar tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1. Senior
David Martirosian gave USU the lead with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 3. Alkotop extended the lead to 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2. Freshman
Roman Venger then clinched the victory with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4. At the fifth and sixth spots, freshman
Eliot Nobel was leading 4-6, 6-4, 3-0, and Goubin was up 7-5, 2-5 before the match was abandoned.
USU also earned a 5-2 win at home against Montana State. The Aggies took an early lead in doubles, with Fenollar and freshman
Eemil Pasanen scoring a 6-2 win at No. 3, while Alkotop and Goubin followed with a 6-1 win at No. 2. Venger won in straight sets at No. 4, 6-2, 6-2. Alkotop added another straight-set win at No. 2, 6-3, 6-4, and Martirosian clinched the victory at No. 3, 6-3, 6-4. Goubin finished off the win at No. 6, winning 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8) in a three-set tiebreaker
TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
Utah State senior Sergi Micó Fenollar was named the MW Player of the Week after going 4-0 across doubles and singles play in USU's wins over Idaho State and San Diego State. Micó Fenollar won both his singles matches at the No. 1 position, including delivering the clinching point against the Aztecs.
