BOISE, Idaho - Utah State men's tennis senior Sergi Micó Fenollar defeated the nation's 116th-ranked singles opponent but the Aggies ultimately fell at No. 41-ranked Boise State, 5-2, on Friday evening at the Appleton Tennis Center. 
 
Doubles 
The Broncos took the doubles point with wins at the second and third positions of the lineup. At the top spot against the nation's 74th-ranked doubles team, senior David Martirosian and sophomore Mohammad Alkotop battled to a 4-4 tie before the match was abandoned.
 
Singles 
Playing the 116th-ranked singles player in the nation, Micó Fenollar stormed back after losing a first-set tiebreaker, winning each of the next two to record a 6-7 (1), 6-2, 6-4 win over BSU's Jett Middleton at the No. 1 position. Alkotop also helped the Aggies keep pace early in singles play, recording a straight-sets win at the second position, 6-4, 6-4. Utah State fought the Broncos to third sets at three of the four remaining courts, also forcing tiebreakers in two of them, but ultimately fell to give the Broncos the 5-2 victory.
 
Next Up
Utah State continues MW action with a pair of matches in the Silver State. The Aggies will first take on Nevada on Friday, April 4, at 3 p.m. (MT), before taking on UNLV on Sunday, April 6, at noon (MT).
