POCATELLO, Idaho - Utah State men's tennis scored a 4-3 victory at Idaho State on Friday at Reed Gym, their second 4-3 win over the Bengals this season. USU also defeated ISU, 4-3, at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club on Feb. 14.
  
Doubles 
At the third position of the doubles lineup, freshmen Eliot Nobel and Eemil Pasanen scored a 6-1 victory to open the match for USU. However, the Bengals scored wins at the top two spots in the lineup to take the doubles point and a 1-0 lead heading to singles.
 
Singles 
Utah State stormed back with four wins in singles play to ultimately take the match. Idaho State initially took a 2-0 lead with a straight-sets win at the second position. Senior Sergi Micó Fenollar and freshman Roman Venger began the Aggies' comeback with wins at the first and third positions, respectively. Micó Fenollar outlasted his opponent in three sets, rebounding after falling in a tiebreak in the second set to record a 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-1 victory. Venger matched the third-set rebound with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory to tie the match at 2. 
 
Nobel then put the Aggies ahead for the first time in the match, recording his own comeback after losing a first-set tiebreak to win in three sets at the fourth position, 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-1. After the Bengals again tied the match with a win at No. 6 singles, freshman Dmitri Goubin pulled through with the clinching in the final singles match of the day. Goubin flipped USU's luck in tiebreaks to win in two sets at the fifth position, 6-4, 7-6 (4), to give Utah State the 4-3 win.
