LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis celebrated Senior Day with a 4-1 victory over Air Force on Saturday at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club. With the win, the Aggies also clinched the No. 3 seed in next week's Mountain West Tournament.
Prior to the match, USU also celebrated the careers of seniors
David Martirosian and Sergi Micó Fenollar.
Doubles

Eliot Nobel kicked off the match with a 6-2 win at the top spot of the doubles lineup for USU. The Falcons, however, answered back with a 6-4 win at the No. 2 position before claiming victory in a tiebreaker at the third spot to clinch the doubles point.
Singles
Utah State stormed back in singles with the top two spots in the lineup powering the comeback. At No. 2 singles, sophomore
Mohammad Alkotop tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-2 victory, his 16th singles victory of the dual match season, tying for the 11th-most in a single season in program history. Micó Fenollar followed soon after with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the top spot in the lineup. With the win, Micó Fenollar reached 123 wins in his career at Utah State, breaking a tie with former Aggie
Bodin Zarkovic for fifth place all-time in combined singles and doubles wins at USU.
After claiming wins at the top two spots in the lineup, the bottom two positions then came through to clinch the match for USU. At the fifth position, Nobel broke serve late in the second set as part of a 6-4, 7-5 victory to put the Aggies up, 3-1. Freshman
Dmitri Goubin then pulled a similar feat at No. 6 singles, breaking serve late to pull out a 7-6 (3), 7-5 victory to clinch the win.
At court three, Martirosian had claimed the opening set and was tied 1-1 in the third frame at the time the match was clinched. Freshman
Roman Venger had also bounced back to win the second set at No. 4 singles and was early in the third before the match was also abandoned.
Next Up
Utah State heads to the Mountain West tournament as the No. 3-seed and will play in the first round on Wednesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. (MT). USU's opponent, the tournament's No. 6 seed, has yet to be determined.
