LAS VEGAS - Utah State men's tennis fell to New Mexico, 4-2, on Thursday evening at the Darling Tennis Center in the semifinal round of the Mountain West Tournament. The Aggies ended the season with a 15-9 overall record and a 4-2 showing in conference play.
 
Doubles 
The Aggies began strong in doubles play before the Lobos rallied on multiple courts to ultimately take the doubles point and the first lead of the match. At the top spot in the lineup, senior David Martirosian and freshman Eliot Nobel led, 5-4, before the doubles point was clinched and the match left unfinished.
 
Singles 
Down a point to begin singles play, Martirosian swiftly erased the deficit with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory at the third position to tie the match at 1-1. New Mexico, however, responded with straight-set wins at the first and fifth positions to take a commanding 3-1 lead. The Aggies fought valiantly at the remaining positions, forcing each to go a full three sets. Sophomore Mohammad Alkotop pulled USU within one with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles, but the Lobos ultimately clinched the match with a win at court six for the 4-2 victory.
